We have footholds: We have, with some agreement from Newton, a story about what white light is. We have, thanks to our clever work, a story about what filters do to light (they absorb light and – perhaps through a series of collisions – turn that light into heat). And we have a story that the color you see has to do with what light reaches your eye. But what is the relationship between what light is present and what you perceive?
- As always, be working to make sense of color! this two week section is going to focus in particular on what we SEE – how do the light rays that reach our eye determine the colors we see?
- We’re going to critique Newton – which of his ideas hold up and which ones can we disprove?
And, as always, be keeping track in your notebook; including notes, thoughts, etc. from class on Tuesday.
